We are so lucky to have Mrs. Courtney Knight as the new Assistant Principal at Orchard! Mrs. Knight comes to us from Pony Express Elementary, where she served as Assistant Principal for the past two years. Mrs. Knight also spent five years assigned as a Partnership Facilitator, working with intern teachers, and the remainder of her teaching career was spent in the classroom.
Mrs. Knight lives in Orem and the majority of her teaching career has been in Orem. She and her husband have two daughters and one son, all of whom attended and graduated from schools here in Orem.
Mrs. Knight says, "I firmly believe that in order for students to learn at high levels, they need to feel safe, feel cared for, and be highly engaged. Partnering with parents and the community is a crucial piece of creating these conditions. I look forward to engaging with the Orchard community and helping Mr. Bowman and our faculty ensure that systems and structures within the school are functioning at high levels. I have been looking over the great things that Orchard has been doing and am looking forward to learning from the faculty, staff, and community."
When Mrs. Knight isn't working, she likes to spend time with her family, participate in performing arts (singing, acting, and directing), reading, playing the piano, and going on vacations. She also loves to have family game nights on the weekends.
